What is Aveleno's SMS messaging program?
Aveleno is a structured treatment program platform built for independent nurse practitioner-owned medical aesthetic practices. As part of our platform, we operate a Twilio A2P 10DLC registered SMS messaging program. We send SMS messages on behalf of clinicians to their patients to support structured treatment programs for GLP-1 weight loss and Botox treatments.
Who receives these messages?
Patients of nurse practitioner-owned medical aesthetic practices that use Aveleno receive messages from their clinician's practice. Messages are sent only to patients who have provided their phone number and consented to SMS communication as part of their care.
What types of messages do we send?
Appointment reminders
"Hi Sarah, this is a reminder of your appointment with Dr. Jones on Tuesday at 2pm."
Treatment program check-ins
"Hi Sarah, you're at week 4 of your GLP-1 program. How are you feeling? Any side effects to discuss before our next call?"
Refill timing reminders
"Hi Sarah, you have 7 days of semaglutide remaining. Would you like to schedule your refill appointment?"
Post-treatment satisfaction checks
"Hi Sarah, it's been a week since your Botox treatment. How are you feeling about the results?"
Treatment milestone celebrations
"Sarah, congratulations on reaching 5% weight loss in your GLP-1 program. Dr. Jones is proud of you."
Educational program content
"Sarah, a tip for managing GLP-1 side effects: try eating smaller meals more frequently during the first few weeks."
We do not send marketing messages, promotional content, or messages unrelated to a patient's specific treatment program.
How do patients opt in?
Patients opt in to receive SMS messages from their clinician's practice in one of these ways:
- By providing their phone number and SMS consent during their intake, treatment visit, or program enrollment with the clinician's practice.
- By texting START or JOIN to the practice's Aveleno-managed phone number after the practice provides them the number.
- By replying affirmatively to an opt-in message sent by the clinician.
Each clinician's practice is responsible for obtaining patient consent before any SMS messaging begins.
How do patients opt out?
Patients can opt out at any time by:
- Replying STOP to any message
- Replying UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT to any message
- Contacting their clinician's practice directly
- Emailing support@aveleno.com
After opt-out, the patient will receive one confirmation message and no further messages will be sent.
How do patients get help?
- Reply HELP to any message
- Contact the clinician's practice directly using the phone number or email the practice provided
- Email Aveleno support at support@aveleno.com
Message frequency
Message frequency varies based on the patient's treatment program and the clinician's program settings. Most patients receive between 2 and 8 messages per month. Active treatment phases (such as titration weeks 1-8 of a GLP-1 program) may include more frequent check-ins, typically one per week.
Message and data rates
Message and data rates may apply. Standard wireless carrier rates apply to all messages sent and received. Aveleno does not charge patients directly for messages.
Privacy and HIPAA
Aveleno is built on HIPAA-conscious infrastructure. We have signed Business Associate Agreements with our infrastructure providers including Twilio (our SMS delivery partner). Patient phone numbers are used solely to deliver messages directly related to the patient's treatment program with their clinician. We do not share phone numbers with third parties for marketing or any other purpose.
For complete details, see our Privacy Policy and SMS Terms.
Carriers
We support all major U.S. wireless carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
